apple trees & honey bees.

can i just say that i am loving spring time right now? im pretty sure its my most favorite season. i mean, we do live in ireland, so its green all year round, but let me tell you, as soon as there is a few days of sun and the tiniest bit of warmth after a long hard winter...BAM! i tell you, there are shades of green you didnt even know existed!
winter is rough, by golly, sometimes it feels like it will never end, but when the temperature rises and those little buds start showing on the brown, seemingly dead, trees... it all becomes worth it! i honestly believe that there is no better place to be than in ireland in the spring. well, when the sun is out, and the weather is nice, which is not too often, but i digress...

now, i am most pleased to announce that the lavender i planted last summer has survived the harsh winter! oh, its most beautiful! there are three types, english, french, and white. and boy, are they lovely.

more pictures of spring time lovelies in the posts to follow im sure...we will be doing some gardening soon!

cup of sorrow

i want to drink from Your cup of sorrow.
i want to bathe in Your holy blood.
i want to sleep with the promise of tomorrow.
although tomorrow may never come.

ill send a prayer out across the ocean,
to a man been forced out of his home.
ill send a prayer out across the ocean,
so that he may not suffer there alone.

i want to sit at Your table of wisdom,
so that not one crumb shall go to waste.
for if we keep down this pathway to destruction,
oh will our children will suffer for our haste.

i want to drink from Your cup of sorrow.
i want to bathe in Your holy blood.
i want to sleep with the promise of tomorrow.
although tomorrow may never come.

(cant get this song out of my head. its a good one. thanks amos lee)

st patricks

its was three years ago this day, that clay & i were getting off a plane at the dublin airport, with our entire lives packed in four 50lb check-in suitcases, and two 2' x 2' carry-on items. we were fresh from the altar, smiling newlyweds, ready to start a whole new life here, the land of green rolling hills and castles older than america itself.  i remember the drive from the airport, up the m1 to dundalk, in the back of robert truesdale's sedan. sitting in comfy leather seats, watching the landscape zoom by, my head still reeling from the long sleepless flight and the too much breathing of recycled air. it was a short drive and when we got to where we would call home for the first year of our marriage, we found the bed nicely made, the heater on, and some little foods in the fridge. everything we needed to get through the first few days of jetlag. eat, shower, sleep. repeat.

its crazy to think that was only three years ago. i say "only" because three years is a short amount of time in the large scale of things, but i say "crazy" because its incredible all the things God has done in that time.

As it is written, "what no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him"

tick tock

oh goodness. was the 17th of February almost a MONTH ago? and that was the last time i updated? holy moly, i dont think i even checked this blog since then. wow.  granted, February was the shortest month of the year, but still, that time went way too fast. but, once i do have time back in my grasp, i will write a more detailed explanation of why the said time flew. for now, in case i fall asleep before i press "publish post", i will sleep. tomorrow starts another long day.
good night.
